A psychology practice for adults
Katherine Watson - Clinical Psychologist
Clinical psychology for the everyday and the extraordinary — anxiety, life transitions, insomnia and grief, alongside work with athletes and veterans navigating pressure and performance.
Who I work with:
Issues in Everyday Life & Wellbeing
Anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, chronic health conditions, insomnia and neurodivergent discovery — support for the challenges everyday life brings.
Working with athletes, executives, and other high performers on performance anxiety, pressure, and the mental demands of sustained high achievement — including return-to-sport psychology for injured athletes.
Trauma-informed support for veterans and ex-service personnel navigating transition, operational stress, and the impact of service.
My approach is evidence-based and tailored to you, drawing on:
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you live according to your values
-
Schema Therapy to understand and transform long-standing patterns
-
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) for practical, goal-oriented progress
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for sustainable change
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) to work through and process difficult or distressing experiences
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), specifically addressing sleep difficulties and insomnia
-
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for lasting emotional resilience

Services Available
Individual therapy and group sessions
Depending on each client's presentation, individual sessions will be scheduled weekly or fortnightly. We know that regular, consistent therapy is likely to produce the best results for people so a committment to the process is important.
Mindfulness Groups:
Mindfulness group programs are held over 8 consecutive weeks, with a full day of practice usually held between weeks 6 and 7. There is the option of a follow-up session approximately 1 month after the eighth session.
I have a 17 year personal practice of mindfulness and have taught mindfulness to many individual clients. I have also facilitated Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) groups for people affected by cancer, and for Mindful Parenting.
Please complete the contact form if you would like to discuss options for individual or group therapy.
