A different kind of path into psychology:
Psychology is my third career. I began as a Military Air Traffic Controller — high-pressure, high-stakes operational work where split-second decisions and clear thinking under pressure weren't optional. That experience shaped how I understand stress, performance, and what it takes to function well when the pressure is real.
From there to psychology:
After leaving that career, I returned to study and began working in the NGO health sector, running support programs for cancer patients and their families. That work is where my interest in psychology took hold. I went on to complete Honours and Masters degrees in psychology, and achieved my Clinical Psychology endorsement from the Psychology Board of Australia.
Outside the therapy room:
I'm a keen runner and get out on Sydney's running trails most days of the week — training that keeps me close to the same questions of pressure, resilience, and performance I bring into my clinical work.
