Psychology for athletes and high performers
I'm Katherine Watson, a clinical psychologist, with a background as a military Air Traffic Controller — a high-pressure, high-stakes operational environment. I work with athletes, executives, and other high performers navigating performance anxiety, pressure, injury recovery, and the mental demands of sustained achievement.
Who this is for
-
Athletes and and executives/high performers managing performance anxiety
-
Athletes recovering from injury, including fear of return to sport and loss of sporting identity
-
Executives and business professionals under sustained pressure, facing burnout, or navigating high-stakes decision-making
-
Anyone wanting a structured approach to performing well under pressure, in sport or work
My approach
I bring two things not often combined: clinical psychology training and direct personal experience of high-stakes, high-pressure work through my earlier career as a Air Traffic Controller. I take a trauma-informed approach, drawing on evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, EMDR and CBT-I for sleep difficulties. My priority is building a space where you feel understood, not explained to — and working at a pace that respects what you bring into the room.
