Psychology support for veterans and ex-service personnel
I'm Katherine Watson, a clinical psychologist. Before training in psychology, I served as a Military Air Traffic Controller. That gives me a genuine, lived understanding of service life, chain-of-command, and the weight of high-stakes operational work.
Who this is for
-
Currently-serving and ex-service military personnel
-
Those experiencing operational stress, hypervigilance, or difficulty adjusting
-
Anyone processing distressing or traumatic experiences from service
-
Veterans navigating the transition to civilian life
-
Sleep difficulties, including hypervigilance-related insomnia
My approach
I bring full clinical psychology training, combined with a genuine, lived understanding of military life through my own service as a Military Air Traffic Controller. I take a trauma-informed approach, drawing on evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and EMDR. My priority is building a space where you feel understood, not explained to — and working at a pace that respects what you bring into the room.
